About Kilford Studios

Giclée printing, done properly. From day one.

Kilford Studios is a fine art print studio in Lisbon, certified by Canson® and Hahnemühle®.
We work with artists, photographers, illustrators, galleries, and museums — on prints that hold up to serious scrutiny.

Precision by habit, not by exception.
Every print we produce is made on Canon imagePROGRAF PRO printers, with custom ICC profiles built for each paper we carry. Colour management isn’t an afterthought — it’s the foundation. Papers are selected from Hahnemühle and Canson Infinity, both of whom certify our studio. That certification isn’t marketing — it means our colour standards, profiling, and output are independently verified.

Nick Kilford runs the studio and leads all client consultations. Luísa Caldeira manages framing, mounting, supplier relations, and studio administration — custom framing is available in-house for all print orders.
Between them, they’ve built a studio that works at the pace and standard that serious work demands.

Two ways to work with us.

Some projects need a conversation before they need a print.
For those, the Creative Guidance Session is a 45-minute consultation — in person in Lisbon, or via video — where we review your files, discuss paper options, and map out what the finished print needs to do. The session fee is 45€, credited to your first order.
For clients who know what they want, the Kilfigurator handles everything online: paper selection, sizing, 3D frame preview, and file upload. Same quality, less back-and-forth.

Our clients include independent artists and illustrators building limited edition print runs, photographers printing for exhibition and sale, galleries and institutions with exacting reproduction standards, and interior designers sourcing large-format work for hospitality and residential projects.
If the work matters, the print should match it.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Kilford Studios located?
We’re based in Lisbon, Portugal. Local clients can visit the studio by appointment. We also ship to several European countries.

What certifications does Kilford Studios hold?
We are certified by both Canson and Hahnemühle — two of the leading fine art paper manufacturers. Certification means our colour management and output standards meet their verified criteria.

What kind of work do you print?
Photography, illustration, painting reproduction, limited edition print runs, and exhibition work. If it requires precision, we’re the right studio for it.

Do I need to be local to work with you?
No. Remote clients have access to the same papers, profiles, and quality. We offer video consultations and ship across Europe. Most of the process happens online.

What’s the difference between a Creative Guidance Session and the Kilfigurator?
The CGS is for clients who want guidance before they commit — a conversation about the work, the paper, and what the print needs to do. The Kilfigurator is for clients who know their specs and want to order directly. Both routes produce the same quality output.
